The square block is carved on top with a mythical beast shown in a recumbent position with head turned backwards, and detailed with a finely incised mane, hoofed feet, a knobby backbone and long tail flicked up onto the left rear haunch. The seal face is carved with the characters chen Wei Gang yin (the seal of the imperial subject Wei Gang). The stone is of pale greenish-white tone with some white markings.
