A fine set of 101 plates from Piranesi’s famous Vedute di Roma series, including many first or early Roman states. Piranesi started to issue the plates for the Vedute in 1748, with various combinations of plates issued over the following thirty years until his death in 1778, and then by his son Francesco in Paris from 1800-1807.
