The moonflask is finely potted with a flattened circular shape, supported on a spreading oval foot. The exterior of the body is elaborately enamelled with a large circular panel to each side, depicting large peonies beside branches of magnolia and crab apple, all reserved on a pink scraffiato ground. The interior and base are enamelled in turquoise.
